We are conveniently located in the heart of Redwood National Park, Fern Canyon, Prairie Creek State Park, beaches, and just a few minutes from world famous Lady Bird Johnson Grove. The goal at Redwood Adventures is to provide an experience that exceeds every expectation and that will create memories for a lifetime. We hope you make Redwood Adventures part of your vacation plans this year.

The Elk Rut

Every fall, the amazing elk that share the redwoods with us go through mating season – a period of time known as the rut. During the elk rut, mature male elk compete for the females’ attention by antler wrestling one another and creating loud, bellowing vocalizations — known as “bugling.” To see a slideshow of the elk rut, click button below.

If you stayed with us at the Elk Meadow Cabins over this summer, you may have enjoyed our creek viewing area. This is our favorite spot to enjoy a morning coffee. 🙂

The water is much higher now after our recent rains, over the summer the water gets as low as just a few inches, exposing much of the Prairie Creeks channel bottom. Hope you enjoy this tranquil moment of our Humboldt County Fall season.
