Many fascinating things can be found in our local tide-pools. Discover some of our local sea stars, urchins, anemones, crabs, and other intertidal creatures and seaweeds. Our tide-pool adventures are perfect for any age, but timing and availability will depend on appropriate tides. Due to the reality of the tides in Humboldt County, this adventure may not always be available.

Forest Bathing is the practice of spending mindful time in the forest. Originating in Japan as “shinrin-yoku”, this activity has been shown to have a plethora of benefits to our bodies, physically and mentally. Redwood Adventures Naturalist guides will help your group learn about the wonders of this practice, during a mindful, slow-paced forest experience. This is a great way to slow down and feel the forest more deeply as you learn of the wonders of the ancient Redwoods.

This program is perfect for those that want a calm, slow, and peaceful experience. On these adventure experiences, we tend to not walk more than half a mile. Our time is spent sauntering in the forest, sitting, contemplating, and breathing.

Fern Canyon is an awesome sight. This picturesque and primeval-looking setting, used in the filming of several movies, is a must-see part of Redwood National and State Parks.  Five species of ferns grow on its vertical walls.  Its waterfalls, meandering creek, and meadows are even more amazing when interpreted by one of our expert guides.  The full-day version of this tour can include hiking to or from the canyon on some of the parks’ many trails.  Except in summer, this tour includes some wading.

If you prefer, strike out on your own with a Bicycle Rental.  We offer men’s and women’s Cannondale mountain bikes and children’s bikes to allow you to explore the wonders of the redwood parks.  Bicycles aren’t allowed on most of the parks’ trails, but renting bikes is a wholesome, low-impact way to get to some of the best trailheads.
