We are in far northern California, 1 hour south of the Oregon border. Located along the historic 101 highway, Elk Meadow Cabins provides a nice midway point when touring the west coast, minutes from old-growth redwoods and the beach. Take a break, far from the bustling cities, and enjoy the clean air, clean water and gorgeous hikes. Boasting a temperate rainforest, this region provides a welcome break from the summer heat.

We are the most convenient place to stay to see the last remaining giants of old growth redwoods in Redwood National and State Parks. And… you often see large, Roosevelt elk!

GETTING HERE

Whether by car or plane (and a car), Elk Meadow Cabins is extremely accessible due to its location on highway 101. Many visitors choose to fly into a major hub like San Francisco, Seattle or Portland and drive up or down the coast, taking in the sites of the wild pacific coast along the way.

Smaller local airports are also an option, with the closest airport, California Redwood Coast- Humboldt County Airport, ACV, being just 30 miles south. Medford airport (MFR) is another option with cheap flights and a scenic drive along the wild rivers region of southern Oregon.

Conveniently located just off Highway 101, at Milepost 124 in Humboldt County, at intersection of Valley Green Camp Road and US Highway 101, 3 miles north of Orick with the ranch site location in Orick.
