WHERE WE’VE BEEN AND WHERE WE’RE GOING…
At one time, the Elk Meadow Cabins were a village for people in the logging industry, before the groves of ancient giants were recognized as a national treasure. We’ve given this logging village a second lease on life as part of our vision to bring people out into this spectacular area, and to enjoy the beauty of Redwood National and State Parks. A few families living in the area have dedicated themselves to the cause of sharing one of the most beautiful places on earth with the rest of the planet, and we hope you’ll join us soon.
Whatever you are hoping to do, we have great tours and adventures available for every type of person visiting Redwood National and State Parks. We pride ourselves in creating unforgettable experiences for our visitors.
WHO WE ARE
John “Johnny Redwood” Russavage — Co-Founder
Johnny Redwood was a massive bear of a man, with a heart of gold who was driven to see his dream realized of what was possible for his company and for the area. Even though his passing in 2005 has brought sadness to us all, we will move forward with the goal of achieving the objectives John set forth.
Donna Hufford — Cabins Manager
Donna manages all of our beautiful cabins, and handles many of the day-to-day operations of the business. Donna has been a resident of Orick more than 30 years, and sits on a number of its service boards. Call her anytime between 8 am and 9 pm Monday through Saturday with questions about the cabins or the area.
Justin Legge — Tour Director and Site Supervisor
Justin has been working in the environmental education and adventure tourism sector since graduating from local Humboldt State University in 2011. He has led a diverse range of outdoor programs and is known for spreading joy to everyone around him, and for infecting others with his passion for the outdoors. Justin’s love is to help other humans find a positive, and meaningful connection with nature. When not in the old growth redwoods leading our guided tours with Redwood Adventures, you can find Justin out on our local bike trails, or slowly strolling along one of our stunning beaches.
